Consequences of reckless adoption of foreign lifestyles and the link between moral dysfunction in a society and economic poverty
Social interactions in a society is normally based on individuals adhering to acceptable moral codes. Normally behaved societies are those societies where the moral code deployment of individuals equates society’s social interaction expectations.
When the society’s social expectation is fuelled by reckless acquisition of foreign lifestyle, it will lead to lifestyle hyper-inflation. Reckless lifestyle inflation topples a society’s existing moral code and triggers behaviour expectations confusion within the society. Behaviour expectations confusion then leads to moral anarchy/decadence. Normally behaved societies have a set standard of expected behaviours agreeable to majority of the population.
Behaviour malfunction is created when a society decides to recklessly get excited by foreign lifestyles and in turn applies these acquired lifestyles to the social expectation capital of their society. Apparently this will lead to moral decay in the society.
A nation should have a national moral standard that drives their behavioural framework. National moral standard can be formed when a society comes together to identify what their citizens welfare aspirations are and what the citizen’s duties should be to meet those aspirations. The behavioural framework of a society is what informs the thinking and moral logic of individuals in a country. With a nationally agreed behavioural and moral standard, the society will only associate with one if their behaviour meets nationally expected values, where social capital is built by the values you add to the society.
Societies that are fragmented along ethnic and religious lines would be riddled with nepotism as they won’t trust other people from outside their worldviews, allowing mundane considerations to interfere with their welfare development. Apparently, this will accrue moral values that encourages selfish and myopic motives. It will be difficult for this kind of society to be selfless in their considerations and for them to achieve economic growth that encompasses the wider society. This therefore leads to economic mismanagement of resources and a consequent economic poverty.
Moral values are the engine room that drives the discipline that ensues economic development in a society. Societies pick up foreign lifestyles flagrantly when they don’t have respect for their own original/aboriginal thinking logic. It will be difficult for a society to get easily excited with foreign lifestyle if they trust the lifestyle their original culture can avail to them. It is important to note that it is wiser to understand the thinking logic behind a particular lifestyle before considering acquiring it. When this is identified and deemed suitable to the wellbeing of the general populace in the long-run, then the society should adjust their thinking/moral logic (civilisation) to match the lifestyle they want to adopt.
When individuals in a society absorb foreign lifestyles in a dysfunctional manner, the resultant impact is that they would be poisoning their mental health where they will eventually lose their own peace of mind. If this is not controlled, moral decay will creep into people’s lives.
The piece above establishes the link between moral dysfunction in a society to economic poverty. Society members need to be in their best behaviours to achieve a relationship system that will bring long-term prosperity for themselves.
